Become a volunteer
At Freedom Leisure we are excited to offer volunteering opportunities across our leisure, culture and entertainment venues. Our aim is to provide high quality accessible services in the communities we serve, our programmes are wide ranging and reach many parts of our local communities. Volunteers play a key role to support these sessions, with roles in our leisure centres ranging from Activity Helpers for sport and swimming to being a Welcome Host to provide support to customers new and old to help them feel welcome and supported in our facilities.
Our volunteer roles are designed for those aged 16+, they are flexible and offer short term and longer term opportunities. Each volunteer will receive a full induction and training programme to carry out their role, our centres offer a supportive, friendly and safe environment.
Please note that work experience or work placements need to contact centres directly, we can not process these requests through this channel.

Welcome Host Volunteers act as the first point of contact for visitors, helping them feel comfortable, informed, and confident in using the facilities and services available. Hub Community Connector Volunteers play a key role in supporting the leisure centre’s Health and Wellbeing Hub by sharing information, promoting healthy living initiatives, and signposting individuals to local services and opportunities that can enhance their physical, mental, and social wellbeing.
