We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused 1st Line Technical Support to join our Head Office IT team at Freedom Leisure. As the first point of contact for IT support, you’ll play a vital role in helping our colleagues stay productive by resolving technical issues face to face, over Teams and via phone.
You will support a wide range of software and hardware across the business, ensuring issues are logged, tracked and resolved efficiently. You’ll also maintain our IT asset inventory, contribute to our knowledge base and support project work alongside the Head of IT.
This role will require occasional travel to other sites as well as occasional work outside normal hours. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for IT service desk calls
- Log, manage and resolve IT issues in a timely manner
- Provide first-line software support for desktop applications
- Support hardware such as PCs, laptops, printers, tablets, smartphones and third-party systems
- Maintain accurate IT inventory records
- Build and maintain a knowledge base of common faults
- Ensure compliance with data protection and security requirements
- Support the Head of IT on projects and installations within first-line limitations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of IT processes and procedures
- Positively represent and promote Freedom Leisure at all times

Hours: 37 hours a week - Monday to Friday
Out of Hours support may be required on weekends (rota basis).

We're Looking for Someone Who
- Has excellent customer service skills and a friendly professional manner
- Communicates clearly and confidently both verbally and in writing
- Can diagnose technical issues quickly and accurately within a service desk environment
- Is proactive, analytical and able to anticipate potential issues
- Builds strong relationships with a predominantly non-technical user base
- Shows responsibility, flexibility, enthusiasm and high motivation
- Maintains the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and customer service
Desirable Skills & Experience
- A-Level education or equivalent preferred
- Experience supporting end users both on-site and remotely
- Exposure to thin client environments such as Remote Desktop Services or virtualisation technologies
- Knowledge of:
- Windows 10 and 11
- Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019
- Microsoft 365 including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, InTune, Autopilot and Azure
- SQL Server 2012 and 2016
