North Powys Llanidloes Sport Centre, operated by us on behalf of Powys County Council, is undergoing a refurbishment to its fitness suite in order to improve the fitness offering for the local community.

The council have invested the money in order to allow us to improve the facilities at this popular local leisure centre, because both the local authority and the not-for-profit leisure operator believe it is important for people to have the opportunity to be more active more often.

The current spinning studio was first on the schedule, with the space being extended and the addition of air conditioning installed this week. While new flooring follows next week, resulting in a much better space for those who enjoy the popular indoor cycling classes.

However, the existing gym area is the main focus of the refurb, with a completely new space being planned, including the creation of a large functional training area at the far end of the room with weights and resistance equipment and new state-of-the-art TechnoGym cardio vascular equipment added, to ensure that the gym is up-to-date and suitable for all ability levels, from beginners to expert.

New classes are also to be added to the class timetable, including ‘ignite’; a small, action-packed, group training session using the latest equipment to transform participant’s gym workout forever, designed by and exclusive to our gyms.

We are delighted to be receiving this investment in order to improve the fitness suite, because the Sport Centre is an important community facility which is enjoyed by many. The New TechnoGym equipment and functional training area will mean that our gym is top of the range and the best it can be for our members, hopefully enticing new members too.

The fitness team will also be offering more personal training sessions at the centre to enhance the members journey and deliver result, and the ‘health and wellbeing program’ within the community and district, will also be extended and enhanced.

Theresa Lloyd, Freedom Leisure Centre Manger, says: “We are delighted to be receiving this investment in order to improve the fitness suite, because the Sport Centre is an important community facility which is enjoyed by many. The New TechnoGym equipment and functional training area will mean that our gym is top of the range and the best it can be for our members, hopefully enticing new members too.

“The gym will be closed for one day on Tuesday 20 December and we apologies for any inconvenience caused, but the team is looking forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy the new facilities from the 21 December, a wonderful Christmas present for the community and a great way to kick off 2017.”

We are also running a ‘join in December for £10’ offer – which has no joining fee attached, making it a great offer right up until 31 December, especially for those looking to get fit in the new year.
