Here at The Flash Leisure Centre we have a diverse range of different group exercise classes meaning that there is something for everyone regardless of ability or fitness levels. Our classes start at an low intensity mind and body level with a focus on building core muscles and flexibility with classes such as Yoga, Pilates and Pure Stretch. Our intermediate classes combine a mixture of aerobic and anaerobic training zones using a range of equipment and routines to burn calories; in addition to building stamina and toning muscle. These classes include Spinning, Kettlercise, Power Hoop and Legs, Bums & Tums. Finally our high intensity training such as MetaFit, MetaPwr and Body Blitz are designed to keep you working in your anaerobic zone with set bursts of exercise and incremental resting periods.


Mind & Body - Low Intensity

  • Yoga - A form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Pilates - This class is designed to strengthen the body with specific emphasis on core to improve general fitness and wellbeing.
  • Pure Stretch - Designed with a simple aim of educating people on how to stretch correctly in a fun and fulfilling way. Purestretch aids in increasing flexibility and core strength through a series of balanced choreographed movements. 
  • Piloxing - Uniquely blending two of the industry's most powerful and timeless disciplines of Pilates and Boxing, Piloxing adds a third element of dance into this high-energy interval workout. This dynamic program moves through heart-pumping, powerful boxing combinations to sculpting and lengthening Pilates-influenced movement to 'let yourself go' dance releases, and back around again. 

Strength & Conditioning - Medium Intensity

 

  • Legs Bums & Tums - A cardio work out using a combination of your own body weight; equipment such as steps, hand weights and resistance bands to provide you with a full body work out.  
  • Step Plus - An aerobic step work out with a range of different routines designed to get you moving. Sessions can be adapted to individual needs making sure you get the most out of your work out.
  • Power Hoop - Core workout targeting around the waist using various weighted hula hoops to music. (New Mums need to wait 6 weeks before partaking, 3 months if c-section).
  • Freedom Runners - Structured running session with fully qualified instructors taking varying running routes around Welshpool. Freedom Runners are split into 3 different ability groups ranging from first timers to competitive runners (14-16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult). 
  • Kettlercise - Revamp your workout and build strong and toned muscles with kettlebell training. The dynamic nature of the kettlebell will give you an all-in-one workout of a lifetime, combining both strength and cardio aspects.  
  • MyRide Coach - A spinning class with a virtual instructor to guide you through your workout. Perfect for all levels of difficulty this style of class is for people who prefer an instructor who is on the screen the whole time to coach and motivate you to focus on having a great fitness ride.

  • MyRide World Tour - A spinning class with stunning real world locations on screen with the help of a virtual coach to help you get the most from your ride. Coaching information and cues are displayed on screen and are audible through the sound system.


Calorie Burning - High Intensity

  • Spinning - Instructor led indoor cycling session to music. A great way to burn calories in a fun work out environment with each instructor providing their own personal twist of exercises and training plans to make every session unique.
  • MetaFit - A high intensity training workout lasting 30 minutes using a series of body-weight exercises in the style of interval training. The session is designed to keep your body burning calories long after your work out is complete and is designed by a former marine to push you to your limits.
  • MetaPwr - A high intensity training workout lasting 30 minutes using weights and gym equipment to exercise in the style of interval training. The session is designed to keep your body burning calories long after your work out is complete and is designed by a former marine to push you to your limits. 
  • Body Blitz - An ever changing circuit training session in the sports hall using a range of equipment from the gym including power bags, weights and battle ropes in addition to the likes of tractor tyres to keep your workouts exciting.

*Adult classes are open to all individuals 16+ years old and are free within the full membership categories. Members have 8 days priority booking on classes with pay as you go users able to book 7 days prior (full payment is required upon booking). Once booked you will be required to sign in upon arrival either using reception or our self-check in machine. If an individual books a class and then does not attend there may be a charge.*


In The Pool...

 

  • Aqua Aerobics - Water based aerobics sessions using a range of different equipment to provide resistance in the water resulting in a fully body workout. 
  • Swim Fit - A lane swimming session including 4 different difficulty, distance and training zone swimming training sets. This instructed session will allow you to improve your technique whilst making sure you are getting the most out of your swimming.

Junior Fitness Classes

  • Kid's Gym - Is your child interested in using the gym? Our kid's gym sessions are taken by fully qualified instructors who supervise 8-16 year olds in the gym. The sessions are designed to ensure that kids are using equipment safely along with education on how to exercise effectively and healthy eating. Sessions are on Wednesday and Fridays at 3:45-4:45pm and cost £3.80 or free within our junior membership. **
  • NEW! Junior Bootcamp - Get your kids active at our new junior bootcamp sessions. Our bootcamp is taken by a fully qualified instructor who is always coming up with new ways to get the kids moving. Sessions are on Wednesday at 3:45-4:30pm and cost £3.80 or free within our junior membership. **

**Children must have a completed pre-activity questionnaire prior to participation in any exercise classes, these can be obtained from reception**
