Active Young People

With 17.09% of the Woking’s population aged under 16 years, we will be developing a wide range of innovative programmes including Friday Night Project, sports courses, learn to swim and the Junior Summer Fitness Challenge to encourage young people across Woking to be more active. As a nation, this is the first time that those having children in this decade, may out-live their children as a result of inactivity. Freedom Leisure has a responsibility to provide affordable and engaging opportunities for our young people across Woking. We continue to work with local schools, colleges and community groups to develop even more activities for those aged 5-18.

The Friday Night Project

Weekly multi activity evening for 11-18 year olds. Activities include swimming, trampolining, football, squash, table tennis, badminton and futsal. Sessions take place on Fridays 6.30-9.00pm. 

Kids Yoga

Weekly drop in sessions for boys and girls aged 4-8 years of all abilities to help balance, strength, coordination and flexibility. Sessions take place at Alpha Road Pavilion on Wednesday 4-5pm. 

Community Table Tennis

Weekly drop in sessions led by qualified table tennis coaches. The session is a fun way to learn new skills and develop new ones. Aimed at those aged 10-18 years of all abilities. Sessions take place on Tuesday 5-6pm.

Sports Courses

We offer a wide range of sports courses for children and teens. To see what we currently have on offer this term please check our sports courses pages on the Woking Leisure Centre Website.

Its great to see such a wide range of young people accessing our facilities on a daily basis. We aim to offer a range of sports and activities to engage all ages and abilities.
