Active Ageing

We encourage all people in Woking, regardless of ability to age well. As a nation we have an ageing population- Whilst this is a positive outcome from improved health care and standards of living, our ageing populations are also costing our services millions of pounds due to inactivity. Of the 99,695 people living in Woking, 17.3% are over 65 years which is slightly less than the National average only 61% of adults take part in regular activity which is lower than the national average. We provide a wide range of programmes to encourage active ageing in Woking including 50+ club, walking football, walking netball, walking basketball, swim buddies and chair based classes.

Walking Netball

Walking Netball is a slower paced version of the game including drills and game play. Aimed at women aged 50+ of all abilities. Sessions take place on Thursdays 1-2pm. 

 

Walking Basketball

Walking Basketball is a slower paced version of the game including drills and game play. Aimed at those aged 50+ of all abilities. Sessions take place on Mondays 7-8pm. 

 

Walking Football

Walking Football is a slower paced version of the game with one hour game play and half hour of drills. Aimed at those aged 50+ of all abilities. Sessions take place on Tuesdays & Fridays, 10-11.30am.
