Active Sport

Sport and participation in sport still remains an important part of our culture. Working towards Sport England’s 5 outcomes, across Brighton & Hove, we want to contribute to their national target of getting ‘half a million people more active’ by 2020. We want to also support with local outcomes for tennis development, badminton participation and school sport competition.

Within Brighton & Hove we know that 43% of adults are active and 46% of the population are doing the recommended levels (150 min) of activity per week. As 65% in Brighton and Hove want to do more sport, we will continue to prioritise the developing programmes with key organisations including Brighton and Hove City Council’s Active for Life team, City Parks and their School Games Organiser, High Sports Climbing and Badminton England to develop more programmes of activity. We work with local sports clubs and want to celebrate local sporting success.

Our sucessful Junior Tennis Academy is coached at Withdean Sports Complex and run by our very experienced and qualified coach Giles Brook who can be contacted on giles.brook@freedom-leisure.co.uk OR 01273 542100
