The Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training is a qualification designed to give the trainer the necessary skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to work unsupervised as a personal trainer. This includes being able to offer one-to-one training, baseline assessment, nutritional advice and progressive programming which is specific to the individual needs of a client.

Syllabus and Pre requisites

The syllabus for this course includes:

    • You will need to analyse a client’s food diary over the course of a week and produce a report on your findings and give your client healthy suggestions that they may be able to implement to help achieve their nutrition and exercise goals.
    • To create a PowerPoint presentation on nutrition to educate your client.
    • To be assessed/observed interviewing your client and carrying out various fitness and health checks.
    • To plan a 12 week periodisation programme for your PT in relation to their goal’s.
    • To produce 3 gym programme cards for your client over 3 phases of their periodisation programme that meets their goals.
    • To risk assess and plan adaptations for internal and external environments.
    • A summative observation by an external assessor observing you PT your client.
    • To complete a 16 question worksheet on Personal Training topics (Total of 55 marks).
    • To complete a self-evaluation & reflection on your own instructing skills.
    • To create a infographic handout.
    • To create a medical leaflet on a health condition.
    • To research and recommend various technology to help your client meet their goals.
    • To create a initial business evaluation.
    • To create a market research plan for your business.
    • To create a business plan of key objectives and a financial forecast for the year.
    • To have a modular summative observation by your tutor/assessor on various Level 3 Training Techniques in C.V, M.S.E and Flexibility.

Pre-requisites

Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing - Gym-Based Exercise

assessment, certification and re-certification

You will be assessed by the tutor through the completion of worksheets, a Personal Training case study and a Nutrition case study. There will be an assessment at the end involving practical application of what you have learnt, and you will complete 2 theory paper's that will be assessed externally.

This qualification carries 20 REPs points and allows learners to enter REPs at Level 3.
