Admission Policy & Ettiquette

We at Freedom Leisure Gwyn Evans always aim to make your experience enjoyable and memorable. Our admission policy has this in mind and aims to create happy and safe environment for you and your family to visit.

Pool Admission policy

We expect adults who are supervising children in our centre's to ensure they are in close contact with the child throughout their visit and that their behaviour is suitable. This extends to the whole building and grounds and in particular to changing rooms, toilets, poolside and the pool etc.

We expect adults to be aware of basic safety and not allow their children to run, dive, bomb, duck, or climb on structures, furniture, fixings or railings and to accompany them closely at all times.

If a child has a special need or is not confident in water, then the minimum ratio we require are 1:1 supervision at all times.

The facilities must not be used for coaching/ instructing (wether paid or unpaid) without prior approval from the Management Team.

The use of any equipment for recording still or moving images is strictly prohibited without prior written permission of the Management Team.

Standards of behaviour: Any persons whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by any member of staff will be escorted from the premisis. Any incidents of this nature should be reported to a member of staff and serious incidents will be reported to the police.

Carers pualify for free admission provided they are accompanying their dependant. Carers are required to closely assist their dependant to participate in their chosen activity.

Child Admission Policy

General Swimming

Children who are under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:1 basis.

Children who are 5, 6 & 7 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:2 basis.

Children over the age of 8 may enter the water without adult supervision however we recommend that all non swimmers are supervised at all times by an adult.

Parent & Paddler 

Children who are under the age of 5 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:2 basis. 

Children who are 5, 6 & 7 must be accompanied by an adult on a 1:3 basis. 

Children over the age of 8 may enter the water without adult supervision however we recommend that all non-swimmers and weak swimmers are supervised at all times by an adult.

All babies and children who are incontinent or not dry throughout the day must wear swim nappies.

Dry Admission Policy

Cancellation Policy

24 hours notice is required for all bookable activities. All members who fail to show or cancel within this time will be charged.

Smoking Policy

There is no smoking permitted within the Leisure Centre at any time or within any area. Customers wishing to smoke must be a minimum of 15m away from the building.

Violence and Agression

Freedom Leisure does not tolerate violence and agression towards staff. If you behave in this way you will be asked to leave the building and no refunds will be given.

Gwyn Evans Leisure & Activity Centre managment will refuse to deal with you if you are aggressive towards staff or appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Etiquette

Sports Hall 

Food and drink: Please do not consume any food or drink in this sports hall. Drinks are allowed around the perimiter of the playing area only. Any spillages must be reported to reception immediately. 

Observe court lines: For your own safety please observe court lines whilst activities are taking place. Remember to walk around the court edges rather than across the playing areas when others are using the court.

Equipment set up and pack up: Please note that the time taken to pack up previous equipment and set up your equipment is included within your booking time. Customers are asked to leave promptly when they're booking finishes, so as not to disrupt or delay the next session booked.

Use the equipment properly: Misusing the equipment can result in injury and/ or damage to the equipment; please follow directions and instructions. Ask for assistance from the staff if you sre unfamilliar with any equipment.

Use of cameras and mobile phones: Please do not use cameras or video equipment within these premises without the consent of the Duty Manager. Please do not talk on mobile phones whilst in the sports hall; please leave the room so as not to distract other users.

Customers not following these guidelines may be asked to leave the centre and their membership may be suspended or cancelled.

Studio

If you need to cancel a class reservation: You need to do it at least 24hrs before the class start time. Cancellations within 24hrs will be charged at the full rate unless the space is filled.

Obtain a ticket: From reception before attending your class.

Please arrive on time: You may be unable to join the class if you are late and mis the vital warm up.

Classes may be subject to change: We will endeavour to keep you informed of any program changes.

Please bring your drink with you: Vending facillities are available in our centres and re-usable water bottles can be purchased from reception if required.

Please use the lockers provided: For your personal belongings. Bags left on the studio floor are a hazard and you may be asked by your instructor to move them. Valuables are left at your own risk.

Try not to eat directly before a class: A light snack an hour before will boost your energy levels.

Please wait in reception: For the previous class to finish.

Customers not following these guidelines may be asked to leave the Centre and their membership may be suspended or cancelled.

Gym

Pick up after yourself: When using weights or plated dumbbells pleas return them to their designated storage places once you have finished with them. Please do not leave dumbbells or weights on the floor as this can make the area unsafe for other gym users.

Gym towels: Members are required to wipe down each machine after their exercise; please use the cleaner provided. Please throw yor used paper towels in the bins provided. Members are encouraged to bring their own towel with them.

Stay hydrated: It is important that users stay hydrated during exercise and water is provided from the cooler in the gym. Water bottles can be purchased from reception.

Dress code: Please wear appropriate clothing for exercise at all times when working out in the gym. Please also be aware that body odour can be offensive to other members, so select clothing that absorbs these odours and that is cleaned after each use. Closed top athletic shoes with non marking soles are also required for use of the facility; dress shoes, boots, flip-flops or sandals are not appropriate footwear for the gym.

Use euipment properly: Please do not sit on the equipment whilst recovering between exercises as this blocks the piece of equipment from use by other members. Please do not use free weights at the same time as exercising on the CV equipment. Misusing equipment can result in injury and/or damage to the equipment. Please follow directions and instructions and ask for assistance from the fitness staff if you are unfamilliar with the use of any equipment. Please refrain from dropping free weights to the floor when you finish your set of repititions; this can damage botht the flooring and the equipment. Finally we ask that you are aware of your language and both the tomne and volume of your voice whilst exercising. Other members may find bad languag, shouting andexcessive grunting offensive.

Customers not following these guidelines may be asked t leave the centre and their membership may be suspended or cancelled.
