How do I get started in the gym?
All gym users are entitled to an introductory orientation with a qualified fitness instructor to guide you through the equipment and ensure that we can tailor your workout to achieve your goals and aspirations whether they want to get fit or fitter, to lose weight or tone up or you are training to be better at your chosen sport.
We can help you every step of the way and Flash has everything for your whether you are a first time gym goer or you’re an experienced athlete.
On the first floor, Freedom Leisure have transformed the existing catering area into a state-of-the-art fitness facility with fantastic views of the county side from the impressive large windows. The new gym which include's a large dedicated functional training area, to allow people to work out away from the machines. This 60 station gym boasts the latest equipped from Technogym
All of the strength training machines in the fitness suite have the IFI (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) stage 2 mark on them. The mark is given to the machines that are accessible to all.
The IFI operate an accreditation scheme which recognises the achievements and commitment of leisure facilities who enable disabled people to become physically active. The accreditation provides and INCLUSIVE platform for disabled and non-disabled people to be active together.

9 stations of the latest resistance machines from technogym.
large free weights areas which includes, olympic bench press, 4 benches, olympic half rack, multi power machine , scott bench, lower back bench, a range of dumbels from 1kg -50kg and boxing bag
the large functional training area - this is the home to the Ignite HITT training classes, when the class is not running this is fantrastic area for to mix up your training with some explosive and dynamic exercises with our medacine balls, slam balls, powerbags, BOSU Balance trainers, BOSU Ballast Balls, Kettlebells and Pilo boxes.
By far the biggest asset to the Flash is our gym team. We have trainers with such a wide range of qualifications and knowledge. They are always friendly, approachable and on hand to help with any questions you may have. Personal Training is available for those wanting to really tranform their time in the gym.

The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) is a Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) funded scheme which has been developed over the last 4 years to standardise exercise referral opportunities across Wales. The scheme targets clients who have a chronic disease or are at risk of developing chronic disease.
Clients are referred by a GP or Health Practitioner so if you think you would benefit from joining this scheme please speak to your GP.
