Looking for an all-weather pitch? Look no further: we have a BRAND NEW 54m x 30m 3G pitch NOW OPEN!
A 3G sports turf is made up of a synthetic grass carpet which is installed on to an engineered macadam sub base. A shock pad is installed underneath the synthetic grass carpet to create impact absorption, making the pitch suitable for football, hockey and a number of other outdoor sports. Once the foundations and turf carpet have been installed the surfacing is filled with a layer of sand and rubber infill which falls down into the fibres and enhances the performance of the 3G pitch.
The 54m x 30m 3G pitch is available to book as a full pitch. Suitable for both adult and junior football.
You can also book a 30m x 27m half pitch at Chirk Leisure & Activity Centre; the perfect size for training sessions. These pitches are specifically marked for 6 a side matches.
The softer landing and shock absorption provided by the shock pad is not only beneficial for adults, children are less likely to encounter cuts and grazes.

3G pitches are not just for football. They are an adaptable all weather surface that can be used for a variety of sporting activities.
A shock pad is installed under our synthetic grass carpet making it the perfect place for contact sports such as hockey. The shock pad not only cushions your fall; but cushions every step you take, lessening the impact on your joints. The excellent characteristics in terms of ball bounce and ball roll makes it the perfect setting for hockey. Full height fences not only make it safer for spectators but help keep the ball on the pitch.
Make sure you wear appropriate footwear at all times whilst using our 3G pitch. The use of a sports training shoe is permitted for use on the pitch however, for guidance on the best footwear to wear and other essential pitch usage guidelines and information click here.
