Swimming is a great activity for the whole family to participate in together. Have fun splashing around and practicing the life skill of swimming, a great way to cool down on hot days or to escape the rain!

A gentle swim can burn over 200 Kcal in half an hour. As water is 12 times as dense as air, swimming is a far more effective way of toning your muscles than any other form of cardiovascular exercise that you can do on land. Swimming can support up to 90% of the body’s weight in the water, meaning that those with disabilities, injuries or illnesses like arthritis can take part in a comfortable and safe environment.

Swimming will help your wellbeing. 30 minutes of swimming 3 times per week have also seen improved sleep patterns & lower stress levels.

At Brecon we have a 25 metre pool which is ideal for taking in a few lengths or having a relaxing swim to aid the stresses and strains of the day as well as a smaller teaching pool. We also have a fabulous flume, and keep a look out for our Pool Inflatable sessions during school holidays.

Our varied pool timetable offers sessions including lanes, adults, ladies, aquarobics, over 50s watermania, as well as being home to Brecon Swimming Club, Brecon Canoe Club and Brecon Triathlon Club.

With a range of swimming pool parties available and school holiday activities too, we really are the ideal location for the whole family.
