Both Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex and Woking Leisure Centre, operated by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Guildford Borough Council and Woking Borough Council respectively, have secured the top level of accreditation in the UK’s leading national, quality scheme for the sport and leisure industry led by Sport England.
Both awarded Quest Stretch, which is the top award and only held by 12 other centres is the UK, Quest Stretch marks long-standing and continuous high operational standards, as well as positive impact on local communities and this level can only be achieved after previous tiers are met and sustained.
Quest is an independently accredited, industry recognised tool which encourages continuous improvement, designed primarily for the management of leisure facilities and leisure developments. Quest defines industry standards and good practice and offers a way of benchmarking facilities.
Woking Leisure Centre scored particularly highly for its Area Sports Development function, which is proven to impact positively on the local community.
We are delighted to have been awarded Quest Stretch for two of the centres we operate in Surrey, with all the others we run in Surrey also with a Quest award. Only 630 centres in the UK have any form of Quest accreditation, so it is a great benchmark for customers and a reassurance of quality and for a centre to have Quest Stretch puts it in the top 2.2% of Quest accredited centres in the UK!Steve May, Freedom Leisure Area Manager
Other centres in the County operated by Freedom Leisure are also accredited; with Woking Pool in the Park awarded Quest+ and Ash Manor Sports Centre and the Guildford Lido awarded Quest Entry. These are all great achievements and an indication of the importance that Freedom Leisure place on the high quality and standards of the leisure facilities they manage.
