Freedom Leisure, one of the UK’s leading charitable not-for-profit leisure trusts that manages over 120 leisure and cultural venues on behalf of client partners across England and Wales, was thrilled to host The Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE at its National Conference recently.

The conference served as a platform to highlight the exceptional efforts undertaken by the organisation and its colleague teams across the regions they serve at promoting community health and wellbeing, and to celebrate the individual achievements by the leisure and cultural venues at its annual awards ceremony.

With a steadfast commitment to improving lives through leisure within local communities, Freedom Leisure has consistently demonstrated dedication to its mission. The National Conference showcased the impactful work achieved in collaboration with local authorities and other client partners.

Attendees were also involved in insightful discussions, engaging presentations, and collaborative workshops focused on innovative strategies to further support community health and wellbeing initiatives. Speakers from within the organisation shared their insights and best practices, offering valuable perspectives on the evolving landscape of the leisure sector and the notable contribution from The Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE who provided an inspirational keynote speech at the awards dinner where she also thanked Freedom Leisure for its contribution to the sector and the real impact of providing positive change to people’s lives through physical activity.

One of the highlights of the event was the recognition and celebration of colleague teams from across England and Wales for their outstanding contributions and achievements. Freedom Leisure honoured these teams for their dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to serving their communities by providing exceptional customer service, social value and quality leisure and cultural services.

The conference was also an opportunity to network, allowing attendees to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas with peers from across the organisation.
