Freedom Leisure is celebrating the achievements of two Healthy Communities Managers; Jules Kendrick and Juliet Mason, who have both returned from Spain after proudly representing England in the over 40’s and over 50’s Women’s Walking Football teams respectively.

They travelled with their team mates to Malaga in southern Spain, where the England team went head-to-head with the Spanish Women’s Walking Football teams across three competitive matches.

Jules Kendrick and her over 40s side delivered an outstanding performance, winning two out of three matches, securing top spot in the competition overall. Not to be outdone, Jules Mason and the over 50s England team secured an impressive clean sweep with three victories against Spain. A truly memorable and inspiring achievement for everyone involved that showcased the growing strength and popularity of women’s walking football in the UK.

It was an incredible experience to pull on an England shirt and play alongside such talented and supportive teammates. The atmosphere in Spain was fantastic and winning the competition made the trip even more special. Walking football is growing rapidly, especially for women, and I’m excited to help bring that enthusiasm back to my region in Stafford.

It was such a proud and unforgettable moment to represent England at over 50s level and share the pitch with an amazing group of women. The support and camaraderie within the squad were incredible and competing in Spain against strong opposition made our victories even more rewarding.
