New dates released for SaturDads!
Freedom Leisure is excited to announce the expansion of SaturDads, an innovative family programme designed to engage male guardians…
Working in collaboration with family hubs delivered by the Starting Well Partnership through Action for Children, SaturDads offers male guardians a unique opportunity to bond with their children, connect with community resources, and are given the opportunity to talk about all things parenting with a member of the Action for Children staff. The project was developed in response to research by Action for Children, which highlighted significant barriers preventing male guardians from accessing family and parenting support services. These barriers often resulted in isolation, a lack of engagement with community resources, and challenges in forming connections with their children.
SaturDads is an interactive play session led by qualified sports coaches, featuring a giant obstacle course designed to bring fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and other male guardians closer to their children through fun and engaging activities. Beyond play, the program connects participants with valuable community services, including: the Healthy Start program, Information on children’s dental care, Well-being support and other essential resources.
Sessions are funded by Public health and therefore are FREE to access.

Our team love to see the male guardians and children enjoying the activities. It is such a fun way to engage with families and offer support and advice in an informal environment.
