Cheryl's Journey at Desborough Leisure Centre
Cheryl began her journey at Desborough Leisure Centre supporting her sister Gemma.
Gemma began doing the classes independenlty and thoroughly enjoyed them with Erica but there was times Gemma needed a little extra support due to her disabilities and Erica encouraged Cheryl to participate and encouraged Gemma by getting involved and not supporting from the sidelines.
I'll be honest exercise was never my thing but to help Gemma I did it
Cheryl
Cheryl initially joined one spin class and then joined Gemma in her Circuit Training which she really enjoyed attending.
Fast forward and now the two both attend 2 spin classes a week and one Circuit Training class and both genuinely enjoy doing.
The two have even have had a couple of sessions with Erica in the gym recently as this is something both would like to get into also.
Everyone we’ve encountered from all the staff to fellow members have all been so friendly and encouraging. Erica has been amazing with Gemma!
Cheryl & Gemma
Erica continues to push Gemma harder, Gemma knows her own capabilities and limitations and always pushes herself to reach them.
Gemma likes to seek advice from Erica when she doesn’t want to hear it from family, and Erica is always happy to help.
So, from someone who went from zero exercise to multiple sessions a week, I’d say Go For It!!!! You don’t know until you try. At the end of the day you go at your own pace with no pressure. Apart from the weight loss these exercise sessions are the best things I could have done for myself and I’m so pleased that Erica approached me to help encourage Gemma on her fitness journey.
