Freedom Ashford Hero Awards

Freedom Leisure is a respected not‑for‑profit charitable leisure trust operating local facilities in Ashford and beyond, guided by its mission to “improve lives through leisure”. The Freedom Ashford Hero Awards celebrate individuals and teams who embody that mission, recognising outstanding contributions in a number of categories. From athletes and volunteers to educators, coaches and public servants, these awards showcase the selfless dedication, community spirit and local impact that aligns with Freedom Leisure’s vision of creating healthier, happier and more inclusive communities.

Recognising an individual who has dedicated their career to advancing opportunities in sport and leisure, making an extraordinary impact in the local community

Lifetime Achievement Award

Honouring an individual who has dedicated many years to making an extraordinary impact and lasting contribution to the community.

The Tenterden Vine Award

Celebrates an individual whose roots, reach and community spirit truly represent the very best of Tenterden.

Fundraiser of the Year

Awarded for creative, passionate, and impactful funding efforts in 2025.

Young Hero Award

Honouring a young individual who has shown outstanding courage and resilience during challenging circumstances.

Inspiring Educator Award

Recognising an individual who goes above and beyond to positively impact the lives of young people through education.

Diversity and Inclusion Award

Recognising efforts to build a more inclusive, accessible, and welcoming community.

Sustainability Champion

Honouring projects or individuals driving environmental change or promoting sustainable practices.

Cultural Contribution Award

Awarded to someone enhancing local life through arts, heritage, music or community events.

Recognising outstanding commitment and service in a public sector role.
