We will take you through our step by step process of what you'll expect in your first few weeks here at Withdean.
Treadmills with amazing video footage from around the world that changes the elevation of the deck, cross-trainers, rowers, bikes, Ski-Ergs & Skillmills. These are non-motorised treadmills which help to eliminate almost entirely, impact to the ankles, knees and hips while simulating – as closely as possible indoors – the natural walking/running movement. These are designed with anyone rehabbing a lower limb injury to world-class athlete and everyone in-between.
These are brilliant for anyone & everyone, but especially for those who might find setting equipment up as a big reason for drifting onto the treadmill/bike/cross-trainer/home. They require zero setup and will not leave you with aching joints afterwards. Smooth motion and no noise make them unintimidating and extremely safe for our juniors (12-15 years) all the way through to athletes and anyone rehabbing or coming to us via a medical referral.
These machines are used by professional sports team/athletes the world over and allow you, the user, to lift with either both arms together or independently of each other, offering more control, more feel in the muscles and more results. This is serious equipment for people who are serious about achieving their goals.
Most gyms have weight machines that use the stack of weights with a pin. Ours have the weight stack but they also have a very natural movement pattern that is unlike most other makes. They come with a QR code that allows you to call up a demo video and also log your training records on a phone app.
This is where we create magic. Remove boundaries in your mind and that is where we start in this area. Kettlebells, battle ropes, suspension systems, punch bag, plyometric boxes, monkey bars, open floor space and imagination is what makes this area special.
It’s in the centre of our gym because it is the centre of our gym. As well as being an open part of our gym, it is also where people meet to train together in Synrgy classes. 30 minutes circuit classes that are suitable for pretty much anyone. These are instructor-led training sessions that focus on safe and effective training principles to ensure real results for real people. The comradery is second to none and the energy in the team has to be experienced to be believed. These are run at 6:15am (mon/Wed/Fri) 9:30am (Monday-Sunday) and 6:00pm (Monday to Friday) along with other times on various days.
