We're super excited to welcome local Year 5 pupils to Strong Minds, Bright Futures, a fun and inspiring event taking place at Withdean Sports Complex this September 2026.

Created to help children feel confident and prepared for the move to secondary school, the day will combine exciting sporting activities with engaging wellbeing sessions. From athletics and short tennis to team-building challenges and soft archery, pupils will have the chance to get active, make new friends and learn valuable skills to support their mental wellbeing.

We're also thrilled to be welcoming a number of elite athletes and sporting role models, who will share their own stories of resilience, determination and overcoming challenges to inspire the next generation.

Jason, Area Manager for Brighton at Freedom Leisure, said: "We are incredibly excited to welcome local schools to this innovative event. Strong Minds, Bright Futures is about much more than sport. It is about giving young people the confidence, resilience and wellbeing tools they need to thrive, while creating a memorable experience that celebrates friendship, teamwork and community."

Delivered in partnership with local schools and the School Games network, the event celebrates the positive impact that sport, physical activity and community can have on young people's wellbeing.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Freedom Leisure is proud to support healthier, happier communities. Funds raised through the event will help support youth initiatives at Withdean Sports Complex, ensuring more young people can benefit from opportunities to be active, build confidence and thrive.

We can't wait to welcome everyone for what promises to be a fantastic day of fun, friendship and inspiration!
