Park & Ride
How to use the park and ride to visit Brighton.
If you're driving from outside the city and want to avoid traffic and parking in the city centre, you can park at Withdean Sports Complex and buy a bus ticket into the city.

Using the car park
There is a height barrier of 2 metres at the car park entrance.
The car park is free for the first 3 hours of parking. After 3 hours the charge is:
- £3 between 7am and 8pm
- £10 between 8pm and 7am
From Friday, November 29 2024, a card-only (contactless) payment machine will be located at the bottom of the bus stop ramp. You can also pay using the PayByPhone call service or their app.
We recommend you download the app and register your car details before you travel.

Bus fares
Cheapest bus fares are available using the Brighton & Hove Buses smartphone app.
With a city saver ticket, you can use buses in the city area all day.
A city saver ticket costs
- £5 on the app
- £5.50 in cash from the driver
- £11 for a Family ticket – up to 2 adults and 3 children
A single adult bus fare is £2.

Buses are free if you have an England National bus pass (like our disabled person's bus pass or an older person's bus pass).
Times and route for the 27 bus
The 27 bus runs on:
- Monday to Saturday every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes after 9pm - the last bus leaves the city centre around 11:40pm
- Sundays and bank holidays every 20 minutes - the last bus leaves the city centre around 11:40pm
- No service on Christmas Day 25 December - limited service on Boxing Day 26 December
The 27 starts from Tongdean Lane next to the Withdean Sports Complex car park entrance and runs into the city centre.
The bus route goes to the city centre, including stops at:
- Brighton Station - for North Laine
- Clock Tower - for Churchill Square (and the Brighton Centre, via West Street)
- North Street - for Royal Pavilion, The Lanes and North Laine
- Sea Life Centre - for Brighton Palace Pier
