Free Swimming Timetable at Witham
Residents across the Braintree district are being encouraged to stay cool and keep active this week, and take advantage of free swimming sessions at three Freedom Leisure swimming pools in response to the current spell of hot weather.
The initiative has been introduced to help residents access a safe and enjoyable way to cool down during the period of high temperatures while promoting health, wellbeing and physical activity.
'We are delighted to work with Freedom Leisure'
Councillor Toby Williams, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Wellbeing at Braintree District Council, said:
“The hot weather can be enjoyable, but it is also important that residents take steps to stay cool and look after themselves, particularly children, older people and those who may be more vulnerable to the effects of the heat.
“We are delighted to work with Freedom Leisure to offer free swimming sessions across the district. Swimming is a fantastic way to keep cool, stay active and spend time with family and friends, and we hope as many residents as possible will take advantage of this opportunity.”
'We are pleased to be supporting our local communities'
Jon Richardson, Area Manager at Freedom Leisure, said:
“We are pleased to be supporting our local communities during the current hot weather by providing free swimming sessions at our pools in Braintree, Halstead and Witham.
“Our centres offer a safe, welcoming environment where people of all ages can enjoy the benefits of swimming. We look forward to welcoming both regular customers and those who may wish to visit for the first time during the week ahead.”
