Are you ready to challenge yourself and support a fantastic cause? Freedom Leisure Ashford is inviting members and the local community to take part in our Pudsey Triathlon, raising funds for BBC Children in Need.
Whether you're a regular gym-goer, keen swimmer or simply looking for a fun fitness challenge, the Pudsey Triathlon is a great way to get active while making a difference. Participants will complete a 400m swim, 5km cycle and 2km run, with all proceeds going towards supporting children and young people across the UK.
Suitable for a range of fitness levels, participants can complete the challenge at their own pace, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
The Challenge
Swim
Participants will begin the challenge with a 400m swim, equivalent to 16 lengths of our main pool. Two dedicated triathlon lanes will be available throughout the event, allowing participants to complete the swim section safely and at their own pace. Qualified lifeguards will be on duty at all times, providing support and supervision, and participants are welcome to swim any stroke that feels comfortable for them.
Cycle
Participants will then move on to the 5km cycle, completed on our indoor static bikes. This element of the challenge is suitable for all fitness levels, with participants able to adjust the bike resistance to match their own ability and comfort level. The cycle can be completed at your own pace, with most participants expected to finish within 20 to 40 minutes.
Run
The final stage of the Pudsey Triathlon is a 2km run on our treadmills. Whether you choose to walk, jog or run, the distance can be completed at your own pace, with most participants expected to finish within 10 to 20 minutes. Our team will be on hand throughout to provide encouragement and support, helping you cross the finish line.
To allow as many people as possible to take part, entry is available across four organised waves.
