At Nene we follow the world renowned 'Learn to Swim' programme which is used in over 1,000 swimming programmes in the UK and internationally. It has already taught millions of children to swim. It continues to be by far the most successful grass-roots programme in British sport.
It is our policy to ensure that all our lessons are enjoyable, interesting and above all we aim for the highest standards of water confidence, water skills and swimming techniques.
The majority of lessons are conducted over short distances allowing each pupil to develop a good level of stroke technique while building swimming stamina.
Freedom Leisure Swimming Teachers mostly follow continuous assessment which means swimmers progress at their own pace and move class once the assessment criteria has been achieved.
We are very pleased to announce that our Swim School will be restarting on Tuesday 1st September. There will of course be some changes due to the current situation, to how the Swim School is operated and how lessons take place; we need ensure that all our customers and staff remain safe (details of some of these key changes are listed below).
We have tried to keep the new lesson day and time as close to that held prior to the temporary closure of the Leisure Centre, but we have had to make tweaks. We now allow for at least a 10 minute gap between lessons. This means that lesson times will be different. A full list of the new times is on our website.
You can confirm your space in the new allocated time by emailing nenelts@freedom-leisure.co.uk with your childs name and YES
If you wish to confirm your space but need change the day/time of your allocated class please call reception on 01832 734090 and we will try to accommodate this where possible. Please note: our telephone lines are extremely busy. No class changes will be made via email.
If you wish to cancel your child’s place please email nenelts@freedom-leisure.co.uk with your child’s name and CANCEL. We will remove your child from our swimming lessons and no more payments will be taken.
If you are happy with the new lesson time we shall re-activate your Swim School direct debit payments from 1st September onwards.
We need to hear from you by Thursday 20th August so that we can be ready for September and adjust your direct debit run accordingly.
WHAT WILL SWIMMING LESSONS LOOK LIKE? Parents, customers and swimmers can be reassured that we are following all available advice from the Government and Swim England with regards to safety and hygiene in our swimming pools.

Please can we say what an amazing teacher Bobbi is. She always teaches with so much energy and enthusiasm. She knows all the children's names and their individual needs. We are really pleased with how much Nikos has learnt with her.
