Worcester Octopush Club

We play octopush (underwater hockey) every Thursday here at Perdiswell leisure centre. We have the pool from 8:30pm until 9:30pm, so we meet in the entrance from around 8pm.

Octopush is a fast paced game played entirely underwater. Players try to score goals by using a short stick to push a lead puck along the bottom of the pool and into a trough shaped goal. Players use snorkels (no SCUBA kit allowed!) so all of this is done whilst holding your breath and trying to keep possession of the puck. If you’re interested, more details can be found on the British Octopush Association web page.

If you’ve never played before, we have kit we can lend and our experienced players are happy to organise introductory sessions. If you want to come and have a go, contact us and we can make sure someone’s around to meet you.

Worcester Divers

Try dives introduce you to scuba diving with the club. We’ll have a chat to you about the club and what we do and then put you in some SCUBA gear and take you into the pool. You’ll be accompanied by one of our experienced members, and the pace of the experience will be down to you. Take your own time, stay relaxed and enjoy yourself – after all, that’s what scuba diving is all about!

Try dives cost £30, and after you’ve had a safety briefing and got kitted up you’ll normally get about 45 minutes in the water.

Worcester Divers will provide all of the diving equipment you’ll need. You’ll need to bring:

  • Swimming kit and an old t-shirt
  • Towel

A completed medical declaration (it isn’t very arduous and there’s a copy here)
