We’re pleased to let you know that initial investigative works (required for planning) in respect of the proposed new 3G pitch at Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre will begin from Monday 2 March.

What does this mean?

The last day the current field will be available for use will be Sunday 1 March. Works will begin from Monday 2 March. There may be some temporary disruption around the site during the build period.

What to expect during these initial works

While we’ll be working closely with contractors to minimise disruption, you may notice temporary changes to car park access, some areas cordoned off for safety, and periods of noise during groundworks. Contractors will also be accessing the site and carrying out trenching works.

We are working with Brighton & Hove City Council and the Football Foundation Contractors to ensure safe access is maintained at all times, the car park is kept clean and appropriately managed, and works are carefully coordinated with other activity on site.

Keeping You Informed

We will provide regular updates in centre and via email, share key milestones as the project progresses, and give advance notice of any changes that may impact your visit.

If you have any questions, please speak to the team at reception or contact us directly.

Looking Ahead

Once the current works have completed and planning conditions have been discharged then the actual construction of the 3G pitch will begin.

This new 3G pitch will increase year-round availability, improve playing quality, support local clubs and community sport, and enhance the overall facilities at Moulsecoomb.

We are excited about what this means for the future of sport in the area and thank you in advance for your patience during the construction and build period.
