Nestled beneath the beautiful North Downs with stunning views along the Stour Valley and across Conningbrook Lakes, the Julie Rose Stadium makes a dramatic backdrop for a wide range of events from world class athletics to triathlons. The stadium is now regarded as one of the finest athletics facilities in the country, and is home to Ashford Athletic Club.

Within the Stadium, the main stand can seat up to 800 people and also features indoor facilities, ideal for sports club training sessions, children's parties and indoor boot fairs. The stadium also has an on-site licenced bar which can be included in event hire.

Julie Rose Juniors enables young athletes to follow a structured programme of coached activities leading to certified achievements under the UK Athletics Academy Award Scheme.

Courses run during school term times and must be booked in advance.

Available for all youngsters aged between 5 - 11 years. (All participants must be at school and in year R/Foundation)

Course Days, every Monday, Wednesday & Friday (during school times only) times for each year group are as follows: 

  • Years 1 & 2 - 16:00 - 17:00
  • Years 3 & 4 - 17:00 - 18:00
  • Years 5 & 6 - 17:00 - 18:00

Ashford Athletic Club

Ashford Athletic Club is one of Kent's best known and most active athletics clubs. They offer coaching and competition for a range of athletics events for all abilities and ages from Year 6. They are based here at the Julie Rose Stadium in Ashford, Kent. If you are interested in getting involved with the Club, please fill out an enquiry via their website.

Track Etiquette 

We have created a track etiquette list for our customers to ensure your utmost safety:

  1. Never cross the throwing field inside the ropes. Throwing implements can cause serious harm/death
  2. No standing in any lane
  3. Always look left and right before crossing the track
  4. No group may use more than 4 lanes at any one time unless they have booked sole use of the track
  5. Hammer & shot throwers must fill in their own holes after each session
  6. All throws must be made from the correct throwing area and in the correct direction unless with prior agreement of the management
  7. Always finish your run in your lane and then clear the track
  8. If another runner is in your way call out “track”. The runner in front is expected to move out of the way
  9. All equipment must be returned after use and put away tidily where it was found
  10. All water bottles and bags must be kept off the track
  11. No ball games are allowed to be played on the track or surrounding area
  12. Children and non-athletes must remain outside the track perimeter whilst sessions are in progress
  13. Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, rollerskates/blades & pushchairs are NOT to be used within the track
  14. Clothing/kit – appropriate training gear must be worn at all times, especially when junior athletes are also using the track. Tops and leggings/shorts must be worn at all times
  15. Please use appropriate language & behaviour at all times.  No spitting
  16. No smoking or vaping allowed
  17. Track users must be over 11 years old and supervised if under 14. All field events must be supervised by a qualified coach for all under 18s.
