The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is a nationally recognised qualification, that covers all elements of pool rescue techniques, lifeguarding theory, first aid and CPR.

Important information about the course:
Course dates:
- Friday 27 March from 5:30pm to 9:00pm
- Saturday 28 March from 9:00am to 5:30pm
- Sunday 29 March from 9:00am to 5:30pm
- Saturday 4 April from 9:00am to 5:30pm
- Sunday 5 April from 9:00am to 5:30pm
Practical and theory exam date to be confirmed.

Lifeguard Course Pre-Requisites
Every candidate attending a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course must be 16-years-old or above at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment. Candidates are required to complete a competency test on the first evening which involves:
- Jump/dive into deep water
- Swim 100 meters continuously on front and back
- Tread water for 30 seconds in deep water
- Swim 50 meters in less than 60 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits
Please note goggles/contact lenses and nose clips must not be worn throughout the course/exam.
