There are many benefits to swimming as a family....

Swimming is the perfect way to bond as a family, not to mention the exercise!

The pool is fast becoming the most popular facility in all leisure centres and the perfect place to have a lot of fun and build positive memories that will last a lifetime!

It doesn't matter if its a sunny weekend or a miserable Monday, swimming is an all year round activity that the whole family can enjoy whatever the weather.

Swimming has benefits for all ages:

Babies

Introducing babies to swimming at an early age is good for their learning and development. It's also beneficial for parent-infant bonding and improving the child's co-ordination and muscle strength.

Young Children

Swimming is good for developing awareness of water safety and confidence in the water. Making sure younger children can swim from an early age will always be beneficial in later life. It is also great exercise and could spark an interest in swimming lessons or even further into competing in swim galas and more.

Teens

Swimming is a great option to get teenagers active, whether they want to take it seriously for fitness or splash around.

Parents

Taking the family down to the pool is great exercise for parents, but it also allows for some great family bonding time, and the time to teach your children about being safe in the water and how to swim. If you aren't a confident swimmer yourself then it's the perfect opportunity to get involved and get some lessons!

Grandparents

Swimming is an ideal low impact form of exercise for older generations, iit's easy on the joints and helps to strengthen muscles. Older people can stay active whilst enjoying time with their family. Getting active through swimming is a great way to combine family time with exercise!
