We are delighted to welcome Olympian, Brendan Reilly, who will be attending de Stafford’s Friday Night Project on 6th February
Brendan is a Double Olympian who competed in Sydney and Barcelona and represented and captained GB at countless World and European competitions over a ten year period.
He won medals and broke records at all levels of competition, from National to World Cup level. He was 5 x English Schools Champion, World Record Holder for 15 year olds (2m12cm), 5 x British Senior Champion, European and World Schools Champion with a Personal Best of jump 2m 32cm.
To put this in perspective, the height is 1cm lower than the Gold medal in London 2012.
Brendan grew up in a 'challenging town' and 'challenging school', and he focused his efforts on trying new sports and discovered the High jump.
Within a year, he was the World Record Holder for 15 year olds, and his dream of becoming an Olympian was set.
Those attending the session will have the opportunity to meet Brendan and listen to his story, take some tips and try out the high jump.
To book for this session, please call 01883 716717 (Option 2) up to a week in advance of 6th February.
