Chard Leisure Centre are proud to be sharing their knowledge of saving lives with local community school Avishayes Primary School.
As part of the schools enquiry into 'How are lives saved?', year 6 enjoyed an afternoon into vital life-saving techniques and the importance of keeping our hearts healthy and active. Throughout the afternoon, the children learned about the types of life-saving equipment used by the leisure centre, how they are used. It was then time to put what they learnt into practice and have a go themselves at delivering CPR, using a defibrilator and basic first aid, including bandaging.
We'd like to say a very sincere thank you to both of you; the children had an extremely informative and fun session with you. Many thanks to the Leisure Centre for your time and expertise; it really added value to the children's learning.
