We will be working in partnership with Cotswolds District Council for a minimum of 10 years to operate on their behalf your local leisure centre and also the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, from Tuesday 1 August 2023.

We are really looking forward to supporting your leisure and cultural facilities in the beautiful Cotswolds AONB. For those of you who may be reading this but do not currently use the leisure centres or the museum – we would like to offer you a warm welcome to come along and meet the team.

Who are Freedom Leisure?

Freedom Leisure is one the UK’s largest not-for-profit charitable leisure trusts, operating over 100 leisure and entertainment venues across England and Wales.  Freedom Leisure actively promotes healthy lifestyles across the communities and facilities that we serve.  Our ethos is providing affordable and accessible local leisure, sport and community facilities available for everyone in the communities we serve.

By being a member and customer of your local Freedom Leisure centre rather than a private health club, the fees you pay go towards helping to support projects, improvements and the services you receive, putting investment back into your local community.

Our local communities have access to market leading products and locally focused services which are delivered in a tailored community setting. ‘Improving lives through leisure’ is our vision and our not-for-profit status ensures that we are committed to providing value for money and the ongoing development of our service, with all surpluses reinvested to support the objectives we share with our local authority partners.

Community leisure is about much more than fitness and gym provision. We serve the whole community offering a range of inclusive products and services. Our strength at Freedom Leisure is our ability to support a variety of different customer groups to live healthy lives and have fun. Our well-trained and supportive colleagues are instrumental to our product offering and services.

Freedom Leisure prides itself on operating friendly, welcoming centres which are so much more than just gyms. Across the Freedom Leisure group, we have a huge and varied range of activities, from racket sports, to swimming pools, athletics tracks, and sports halls to climbing walls, ice rinks and studios; plus, social spaces to enjoy a coffee, soft play, children’s and adults’ sports clubs and events halls.

And most importantly we welcome everyone – no matter what age, ethnicity, gender or ability. Our centres are easily accessible, cater for everyone and are judgment free.
What now?

It is not the Freedom Leisure way to simply operate a leisure centre and change everything to ‘the way we do things.’ We understand that one size doesn’t fit all. Instead we will work with the existing team members to continue their good work, whilst developing and improving where we can.

In accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), existing customer data will be transferred to us by SERCO Leisure. To view our privacy policy please visit: www.freedom-leisure.co.uk/privacy .

At Freedom Leisure we truly believe that the local team is the biggest asset to the centres. They have in-depth knowledge about the facilities, the area, the local requirements and most importantly you, our customers. We will use their knowledge, coupled with our experience of operating leisure centres, to ensure that all the centres are the best they can possibly be.

Current members

Current membership benefits will continue after the transfer to Freedom Leisure and there will be no change to the price you pay for your membership and other products and services upon transfer. You do not need to do anything and your membership will simply continue as it is, so you can use the centres as normal.

We look forward to serving the communities of Cirencester, Bourton-on-the-Water and Chipping Campden and having a positive impact on your health and wellbeing.
