Who are Rugby for Heroes?
Rugby for Heroes works with the rugby community to raise funds and awareness while providing practical, financial and personal support to members of the armed forces community.
Their mission is to help individuals overcome the challenges that can come with leaving military service, including finding new purpose, building confidence and developing pathways into employment and community life.
Transition Through Rugby Programme
Rugby for Heroes has already established a programme of four courses at Blackbridge Community and Sports Hub.
These courses include the Transition Through Rugby Programme, designed to help veterans and service leavers gain valuable new skills and qualifications.
Participants can complete the nationally recognised Level 2 England Rugby Coaching Award, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to coach at grassroots, mini, junior and senior rugby level. This qualification can be used in rugby clubs across the UK.
