Returning to Ashbourne Leisure Centre

We're super excited to have opened on 28th August and to welcome you back to exercise at your favourite Leisure Centre.  However, things are going to be a little different to when we closed in March.

We've been working hard to make sure the safety of our customers and staff is our number one focus. We will be following our 'COVID-safety-matters' guidelines and maintaining social distancing within the centre and having a robust and thorough cleaning regime in place to ensure all our customers have the best environment to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.

general changes

There will be clear signage showing the routes you are required to take around the centre and areas that are out of use. If in any doubt, please keep to the right hand side in corridors at all times.

Changing rooms and showers will be unavailable except for those using our swimming pools. Customers are asked to come prepared i.e. beach ready, with swim wear worn under clothing to minimise your time spent in changing rooms.

We can only accept contactless payments.  Please bring change with you if required, for lockers or vending products.

Water fountains will be unavailable, please bring pre-filled water bottles with you.

Our staff will be on hand as always but please remember to respect the social distancing rule when requesting assistance from our team members.


gym

All fitness sessions at the centre we are advising to book in advance. Please book your session online, we will need your e-mail address on our system and you’ll need a pin number or contact us via reception.

Please ensure you arrive for your allotted session on time.  Late entrants maybe required to leave after their booked gym session time which is one hour.  This will allow us time to clean the area before the next session and to allow as many people as possible to use the facility each day.

The gym will have limited numbers in there to give you confidence and space to enjoy your session.

The bookable slots are on the hour.

  • Please only book a gym session if you fully expect to attend. Those who regularly book then cancel will have their booking rights suspended.
  • Arrive no more than 10 minutes before the start of the session and ensure you have your valid membership card with you.
  • You must check in reception.
  • Please arrive ready to start your session as changing facilities will not be available, toilets are.
  • Please follow directional signage to access the gym.

classes

All fitness classes we are advising to book in advance.  Please book your session online, we will need your e-mail address on our system and you’ll need a pin number or contact us via reception.

Ideally customers should bring their own mats for classes. If using our centre mats please ensure these are fully sanitised after use. 

We have reduced maximum customer numbers per class to suit the room or we have moved into the main hall.

  • All class equipment will be thoroughly cleaned between sessions.
  • Extra time will be allowed in between classes for cleaning.
  • Class start times will be staggered to avoid congestion at reception and outside the studios.

pool

All pool sessions we are advising to book in advance. Please book your session online here  we will need your e-mail address on our system and you’ll need a pin number or contact us via reception.

Please ensure you arrive for your allotted session on time. Late entrants maybe required to leave after their booked pool session time which is one hour. 

You will be given a cubical and locker number on arrival to use throughout your visit, this will be cleaned after your swim. Please limit your time in the changing room, showers are available for rinsing this will allow us time to clean the area before the next session and to allow as many people as possible to use the facility each day.

The lane swimming sessions will have 3 large lanes with limited numbers to give you confidence and space to enjoy your session.

We have also introduced family swim sessions, these will have limited numbers so we advising to book, social distancing in these sessions must be observed.

  • No stopping in lanes, if you need to stop / take a rest, you will need to exit the pool
  • No backstroke permitted in lane swimming sessions
  • Please only book a swim session if you fully expect to attend. Those who regularly book then cancel may have their booking rights suspended
  • Please ensure you arrive for your allotted session on time and ‘beach ready’ with your swimming costume under clothing and only use cubicles after your swim and not before.
  • Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before the start of the session and ensure you have your valid membership card with you.

cleaning

We have implemented and enhanced our cleaning regime throughout the centre.  All areas will be cleaned regularly.  It is essential that members clean down each machine after use – equipment may not be shared unless it has been cleaned down between uses.

Hygiene stations are available in all high-touch areas offering hand sanitiser and medical-grade disinfectant and sanitising wipes.

Personal gym towels are permitted but please use wipes and paper towels provided when cleaning down equipment and dispose of them after each use.

Sports Hall and Squash Courts

All court bookings must be booked in advance.  Please book your session online, we will need your e-mail address on our system and you’ll need a pin number or contact us via reception.

Hire equipment will not be available please bring your own

  • All equipment will be thoroughly cleaned between bookings.
  • You must check in with reception

Please Note: 5 a side football cannot return at the moment

Squash Courts

  • Two members from different households (not in a support bubble): can play a modified version of squash – ‘Sides
  • Maintain good personal hygiene
  • Bring your own racket and balls
  • Don’t wipe your hands on the walls
  • You must check in with reception

what we need from you

  • Please DO NOT come to the centre if you are feeling unwell.
  • Please take responsibility for social distancing measures by adhering to the floor markings and posters and avoid congregating with others before and after classes/sessions.
  • Please don’t arrive more than 5 minutes prior to your booking.
  • Please ensure you wipe down all equipment before and after use using the sanitisation wipes or spray provided.
  • Please leave all valuables at home and only bring your essentials – there will be water bottles available to purchase but no cups will be provided. No cash payments will be taken.
  • Please ensure you check in at reception before entry.
  • Please be kind.  Respect others and respect our staff who are working hard to ensure all the rules and regulations are followed that will allow us to remain open.
  • If you wish to wear a mask to train then please do, we will, however, not be enforcing the wearing of masks
  • We would ask members NOT to wear disposable gloves whilst in the facility but to sanitise your hands before/after using each piece of equipment.
