Arun Leisure Centre offers something for everyone in our gym. We have a dedicated team of qualified fitness instructors that are here to ensure that whatever your fitness goals, we can help you every step of the way.
We offer an initial gym orientation to all new members, where you will have the opportunity to discuss; your fitness goals, visits per week, likes and dislikes and recieve an overview of exercise options including group exercise class sessions. Knowing what you would like to achieve will mean that we can work together to achieve your goals.
Our gym includes state of the art Technogym equipment. Our fitness instructors will be able to devise an exercise programme for you to follow and load it on to a memory stick / TGS key. During each visit you will be able to check in using your personalised key, plug it into the equipment and allow the key to set up your training levels formed by your instructor. At the end of your workout you can view your results; calories burnt, distance travelled and much more. Keep track as your health and fitness improves with every session.

BODYPUMP is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit - fast.
Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. Our instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques, pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music - helping you achieve more! You'll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more!
Exercising muscles around the core, CXWORX provides the vital ingrediant for a stronger body. A stronger core makes you better at all things you do, from every day life to your favourite sports - its the glue that holds everything together.
All the moves in CXWORX have options, so it's challenging but achievable for your own level of fitness. During the 30 minute workout, trained instructors guide you through correct techniques as you work with resistance tubes and weight plates, as well as body exercises like crunches and hovers. You will also focus on some hip, butt and lower back exercises.
Step into a BODYCOMBAT workout and you will punch and kick your way to fitness. This high energy martial-arts style workout is totally non-contact and there are no complex moves to master. Our trained instructors will challenge you to up the intensity and motivate you to make the most of every round. You'll release stress, have a blast and feel like a champ.
Exercise referral schemes are designed to help people who would benefit from regular exercise. Physical activity can play an important role in preventing and managing health conditions such as; coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, mental health problems, musculoskeletal conditions and some cancers. It also has a positive effect on wellbeing and mood, providing a sense of achievement or relaxation and release from daily stress.
Our instructors are all highly experienced, we have level 3 GP referral instructors, and specialised BACPR cardiac rehabilitation instructors in our team. To be referred to us you will need a referral form, which can be completed by health professionals and medical providers. Phase IV is a structured programme of exercise that follows on from hospital rehabilitation. It is an exercise and education programme for people recovering from heart attacks, heart surgery and cardiac interventions. The classes are led by highly qualified and knowledgable BACPR cardiac rehabilitation instructors. It can increase fitness levels, reduce cardiac symptoms, improve health and reduce the risk of future heart problems.
Initially a meeting will be arranged with one of our cardiac referral instructors. An initial assessment and screening will be completed and an appropriate rehabilitation programme discussed.

Our phase IV group was established in 2000, and since then has gone from strength to strength. The sessions have benefitted many in the local community over the years. We now run six exercise groups a week at Bersted Park. All have a friendly and welcoming atmosphere whilst offering specialist support and guidence.
