Our Fitness Suite at Arc Leisure Matlock is open from 6:30am - 10pm on weekdays and 8:00am - 7pm on weekends

Our 45 station Fitness Suite has the latest Technogym equipment, with exciting equipment additions such as a Technogym's Skillmill, Climb and Unity TV.

The gym itself has also undergone a radical re-decoration! We have functional training areas complete with squat racks, free weights and assisted lifting racks. All equipment is brand new and up to date and our fitness instructors are fully trained and you are always welcome to come and have a look around our fitness suites and we are more than happy to talk to you about your personal needs, goals and membership options

Gym Orientation

If you've not used our gym before and would like to be shown how to use the equipment you can book into a gym orientation with one of our qualified gym instructors. This 30 minute session tells you everything you need to know in order to use our fitness equipment safely and appropriately. Following your orientation, you can then book into a program with a fitness instructor to design a programme that specifically meets your personal health and fitness goals.

Fitness classes at Arc

Our combination of highly qualified and exciting workouts make our well-structured group fitness classes a great place for you to work towards increasing your health and fitness levels.

When you come to one of our fitness classes, make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear, typically what you would wear to train at the gym. Don't forget to bring a drink to keep yourself hydrated throughout the class.

personal training

Our certified personal trainers can give you the guidance you need to help you reach your fitness goals. Whether you want to boost your fitness, learn new techniques in the gym or just require that extra motivation then our personal trainers can help you.

Our Personal Training sessions are 1-1 from 30 minutes to an hour and a full consultation will be conducted prior to your sessions to discuss your goals, preferred training, availability and any medical or health conditions. This means your trainer can structure the right training for you.

junior gym sessions

If you are aged 11 - 16 years old you can join our gym and start your fitness journey with us.


11-13 years old

We offer sessions for juniors aged 11 - 13 years old on Mondays and Fridays 4.30pm - 5.30pm. These are supervised gym sessions when juniors can attend unaccompanied. Juniors in this session can use cardio equipment only. Outside of Junior Gym hours, 11- 13 years must attend the gym with a parent or guardian who is a member. 


14 - 16 years old

Any students 14 years + can also join the gym and attend anytime with full access to cardio and weights equipment. 

All members Under 16 years old must have a gym orientation with a fitness instructor and we require a parent or guardians signature on their sign-up forms.
