Sport and participation in sport still remains an important part of our culture. Working towards Sport England’s 5 outcomes, across Worcester City, we want to contribute to their national target of getting ‘half a million people more active’ by 2020.

Within Worcester City we know that 67% of adults are active and are doing the recommended levels (150 min) of activity per week. As 55% want to do more sport, we develop programmes with key organisations such as Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Partnership to develop more programmes of activity. We work with local sports clubs and want to celebrate local sporting success.

In Worcester, we develop a wide range of sporting programmes, working with the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Partnership, local clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport and the English Federation of Disability Sport. In Worcester we lead the City of Worcester Sport Awards to recognise local talent. We also support local athletes & clubs thought our Worcester Sporting Grants Scheme to help them with their training and club development.
