Of the 102,338 people living in Worcester, just over a third (33.92%) of people are aged over 50, which totals 34,712 people. We provide a wide range of programmes to encourage active ageing in Worcester including walking netball, walking football and maintaining movement exercise classes.

We have a range of fun and low intensity new activity sessions for both men and women to keep you active in 2022.

The sessions are ideal for older aged people or anyone who has been away from physical activity for a long time and wants to get active again. Active Communities provide many varied activities such as: Walking Football, Maintaining Movement Exercise Class, Netball and Active Ageing Multi-sports.

Adapted Pilates

Supported by Versus Arthritis, and in connection with WOW FC, Freedom Leisure host a monthly Adapted Pilate session for patients suffering with arthritis and anyone else that feels it may be beneficial to oneself. This session takes place once a month on a Friday at Perdiswell Leisure Centre from 11:00am - 12:00pm.

Walking Football

Perdiswell Leisure Centre- A slow-paced version of the beautiful game that is delivered by Active Communities coaches. This session takes place every Tuesday at Perdiswell Leisure Centre from 10:30am - 11:30am.

WOW FC- In partnership with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Freedom Leisure host monthly walking football sessions for patients who have received or are receiving treatment from the Worcestershire Oncology Centre. This sessions takes place once a month on a Friday at Perdiswell Leisure Centre from 11:00am - 12:00pm.

Walking Netball

Perdi's Poppets- A slowed down version of the game of Netball that is delivered by qualified Netball coaches. This session takes place every Wednesday at Perdiswell Leisure Centre from 11:30am - 1:00pm.
