In the Forest of Dean we develop sporting programmes working with Active Gloucestershire, Clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport & The Activity Alliance.
Sport and participation still remains an important part of our culture. Working towards Sport England’s 5 outcomes across FOD, we want to contribute to their national target of getting ‘half a million people more active’ by 2020. We want to also support with local outcomes to become a more active district, provide quality services and deliver value for money.
Within FOD we know that 60.3% of adults are active and 20.2% of the population are doing the recommended levels (150 min) of activity per week. As 62.4% (43,100 people) want to do more sport, we develop programmes with key organisations such as Active Gloucestershire, local clubs, National Governing Bodies and the Activity Alliance. We work with community clubs and want to celebrate local sporting success.
Enjoy "Essentials" at Cinderford & "No Strings" or " The Racket Pack" at Newent across the FOD. For more information on upcoming programmes and how to get involved at your nearest site contact us and register your interest.
