Across FOD we develop & support a range of bespoke community programmes with local community groups for individuals to have fun & stay active regardless of age or ability
Friday Night Project
We are continuing to develop a Friday Night Project targeting local young people from one of our priority wards in Lydney. Following funding from the District Community Safety Partnership our sessions now run weekly at freedomleisure Lydney. We work with key partners such as the Dean Academy, local PCSO’s, parents and community enablers to maximise the impact we have on young people across the Forest. We aim to provide a safe space where young people can come and take part in a variety of activities supporting personal development and enhacing protective factors.
If you are passionate about helping the local young people and would like to work with us please get in contact. Check out our Friday Night Project news feed for details.
Our inclusive facilities offer a variety of options to suit your needs alongwith accessible features such as changing spaces, pool hoists and parking. We have supported gym times, tailored swim sessions and an exciting youth programme called Activity4All.
If you would like to know more information or have an individual who requires additional support please get in contact with us.
WOW! What a fantastic two weeks of free activities we've had. From August 5th - 16th 2019. We kept over 70 kids active and entertained, focusing on families from our Coleford priority ward and surrounding areas. Our coaches transformed the local park with a variety of games and sports that our local young people could enjoy with their friends and family. With special thanks to Forest of Dean Rotary Club for providing the funding.
Thank you to all those involved, to all of the kids, parents, coaches & volunteers who made it happen. See you in the summer of 2020!
