Stafford Half Marathon Terms and Conditions

 

Race start 10.00am 

Official race photographers will be present at the event. Photographs and video footage will be taken for marketing purposes as well as for participants

Due to UK Athletics rules, traditional headphones that cover the ear, and in-ear buds which block out sound are not allowed to be worn in this race. Bone conduction headphones are allowed.

Open to men and women aged 17 years and over, if under 18 parental or guardian permission is required

Places are available on a first come first served basis (max 4500) Your entry can only be guaranteed once we have received your entry details and payment

All places are non refundable and 2019 entries cannot be deferred to 2020. Places may be transferred to another runner, the personal details of the new runner must be provided in full by midnight Friday 15 February 2019 to conform to UK Athletics rules and health & safety practice. An administration fee of £10 will apply. Transfers must be completed through the Active Network website.

After the transfer deadline on Friday 15 February 2019 it will only be possible to transfer places on race day, Sunday 17 March 2019. The original registered participant will need to pass on the race pack they recieve through the post to the new runner. Payment for the transferred place must be agreed between the original registered runner and the new runner taking their place. On race day the new runner must register their details against the transferred number this can be done at the enquiries desk in the race village; a £10 fee is applicable. 

Any participant taking part in the race without a valid paid entry registered in their name will be disqualified. 

Any changes of address and personal details must be updated on the Active Network website by midnight on Sunday 17 February.

Fast course 13.1 miles, accurately measured

All runners are expected to wear suitable footwear

Course closes at 12.30pm, participants are advised not to walk around the course, pace 11 minute miles or less

This event is run under the UK Athletics rules.

No charity collections are allowed along the course

Runners are not allowed to be accompanied by cyclists, with the exception of the official event lead bikes.

Technical T-shirt AND medals for all finishers

Chip timing (disposable)

Prizes for open and vet categories, one prize per individual

Prizes are awarded based on gun times, not chip times

Any race packs requiring to be reissued due to loss or damage will incur a £15 fee. Race packs will not be redirected by Royal Mail, please keep your address details up to date through the Active Network site before midnight on Sunday 17 February 2019.

Stafford Half Marathon the event organisers, Freedom Leisure, will use your personal information to contact you regarding the 2019 Stafford Half Marathon and any future events and promotions.

Race cancellation - Force Majeure:

For the purposes of these terms and conditions, a "Force Majeure Event" means an event beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser, including but not limited to: strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes (whether involving the workforce of the organiser), failure of a utility service or transport network, act of god, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation, direction or action by a government or public authority, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, inclement weather, flood, storm or default of the Organiser or subcontractors. 

If, as a result of a Force Majeure Event, the organiser deems in its sole discretion that it is necessary to cancel, postpone or change the route and/or length of the event, the organiser shall be entitled to cancel, postpone or change the event.

If the event is cancelled, postponed in accordance with these conditions, the organiser will make reasonable endeavours to rearrange the event. 

If the event is cancelled, postponed or amended in accordance with these conditions or if the organiser breaches any of its obligations under these conditions as a result of Force Majeure Event, the organiser shall not be liable to participants for any losses incurred as a result (including as a result of its negligence).
