The Level 2 Leisure Operations Apprenticeship is ideal for learners who are employed in operational roles in leisure and recreation businesses such as gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres. This Apprenticeship is an ideal way to start working in leisure at an operational level, and because the industry is so varied, there are a number of jobs you could do which could fit in with the requirements of the Apprenticeship programme.
The Level 2 Leisure Operations Apprenticeship will provide individuals with the skills, knowledge and competencies required to deliver high level customer care, and the technical ability to operate and maintain the facilities. It will serve to signpost potential entrants to the industry, along with giving those in employment the skills basis for developing their careers within the sector.
On completion of a Level 2 Leisure Operations Apprenticeship the Learner will achieve:
Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being Operational Services
Level 2 Certificate in Leisure Operations
Level 1 Functional skills: English and Maths (possible exemptions dependent on previous qualifications. Evidence of qualifications will be required)
Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS): independent enquiry, creative thinking, reflective learning, teamworking, self-management and effective participation.
There are a wide range of routes Apprentices can take within the industry upon completion of this Apprenticeship. Potential job roles could include:
Fitness Instructor / Gym Instructor
Leisure Centre Assistant
There may also be the option to complete an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Leisure Management.
