This February Freedom Leisure Wrexham is supporting a fantastic charity event and we are asking for your support.

Velindre is Wales premier Cancer Centre, providing care, support and treatment to cancer patients and their families from across the whole of Wales. More people than ever are living with cancer – survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years through better treatments and earlier detection. Velindre aims to lead the delivery and development of compassionate, individualised and effective cancer care to achieve outcomes comparable with the best in the world. Many of us have been touched by cancer at some point, whether it is personally or through families and friends.

On Friday February 2nd Velindre is running a 'Wear Red for Wales & Velindre' campaign.

See links below: All the official documentation is available in Welsh.

We were hoping that we could get the support of you, our schools, community groups and our sporting clubs.

At Freedom Leisure Wrexham, we’re running all-day events including a 'Beat the Boss' bike challenge, where Jeremy Rowe our Head of Operations for Freedom Leisure will be visiting Centres starting in Wrexham Waterworld, then travelling through Powys and finishing up in Brecon. We'll have a customer and staff 1k speed cycling challenge all day and Jeremy will turn up and try and get the fastest time....!!! Or slowest as the case may be!! Schools, Groups and Clubs could take part too!! We'll also be offering promotions and prizes on the day for those taking part.

It's the start of a year of fundraising for Jeremy, culminating in cycling 600k from San Francisco to Los Angeles with a team of fundraisers that include Velindre's patron, Jonathan Davies.

Obviously we’d love you and our schools to get involved and will help to support you in anyway.

The school or organisation that raises the most on the day could get a visit from Sam Warburton, another of Velindre's patrons or another very special guest. Check out the Video on this link which show what happened last year:  https://youtu.be/YH4QfpQwph8

Let us know if you would like to take part at wearitredforwales@freedom-leisure.co.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your support.
