Freedom Leisure and Rushden & Higham Rugby Club are working alongside East Northamptonshire Council to deliver the first Sports Relief Mile in Rushden. We welcome everyone across area to put on their tracksuits or fancy dress costumes and Walk, Jog or Run the Sport Relief 2018 mile course.
As one of the UK’s biggest fund-raising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives.
The Rushden event will be taking place at 10am on Sunday 18 March, will be £1.00 per person on the day but pre booking is required. The mile invites local people to come together and show their support and also offers the chance to raise more money through our just giving page.
The Rushden Mile will be staged around Rushden and Higham Rugby Clubs sports ground. Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part, and can choose walk, jog or run with mile with family and friends.
Among the activities on the day will be face painting, circus skills entertainer, hot and cold food including a BBQ and Ice Cream van plus a chance for the children to meet Jim the Freedom Leisure Trainer Mascot.
“From tiny-tots with their families, gentle park walkers to super sprinters dressed up as their favourite hero outfit there will be something for everyone on the big day."Emma Sylvester, Active Communities Manager at Freedom Leisure
