Drowning Prevention Week 15-25th June.

May 31 2018

One person drowns every 20 hours in the UK and hundreds more suffer life changing injuries through near drowning.

Learn how to be safe in and around water.

Drowning prevention week is a national campaign from the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS). By spreading water safety advice far and wide, drowning prevention week aims to teach people how to stay safe near water.

Here at Summerfields we run Rookie lifeguarding courses where children learn how to perform lifesaving skills including rescues, specialist strokes and CPR (resuscitation).

Our swim school has over 875 children enrolled, learning important water safety including, retrieval, entry/exit from the water, floatation and swimming skills.

We are also working closely with a number of local primary schools on the importance of staying safe in and around the water.

Pick up and complete your wordsearch, available from reception or your child's swim teacher today and receive a water bottle and goggles for all correct entries submitted before Sunday 24th June.
