Stone Leisure Centre is Stafford Borough Council’s new £10 million state-of-the-art community leisure facility built to replace the old Westbridge Park Leisure Centre.
The new centre features a 25 metre, 6-lane swimming pool, and a 60+ station fitness suite, a high-end indoor cycling studio, 2 group exercise studios and a Costa Coffee café. In partnership with the Council, Freedom Leisure, a not-for-profit leisure trust will operate the centre as well as the Councils other leisure, cultural and heritage facilities.
Welcome to the wonderful new Stone facility. On behalf of my team and myself I’d like to extend our welcome and we very much hope you like it as much as we do. We cannot wait to show you round.Nick Meehan, Centre Manager
The gym has around 60 stations plus additional kit, including the latest in technology – with the perfect mix of cardio, resistance and functional training kit.
There is something for everyone whatever your fitness goals and our team is here to guide you – whether you are a novice or looking to develop your training.
We have personal trainers available if you want one-to-one support with really achieving goals.
The brand new pool has a supporting timetable designed to make the most out of the space while offering activities for everyone!
Our pools really set Freedom Leisure aside from budget gyms and we have made sure we’ve balanced the needs of all local groups.
These include; open swim sessions, adult only sessions, family and children fun sessions (including a brand new pool inflatable station and floats), aqua sessions and swimming lessons, as well as ensuring local swim clubs and schools are supported with the time they need.
For those who enjoy swimming you can pay as you go, or save money with a swim membership.
As long-standing operators of public swimming pools in England and Wales our Learn To Swim programme (adult and children swimming lessons and stroke/technique improvement sessions) is of the highest standard!
With around 35,000 students currently enrolled − we are very experienced.
As a community-focussed leisure trust our swim school is oneof the most important things we offer, as aside from supporting healthy, active communities it is important to us that we support water safety – Our Learn To Swim programme at Stone Leisure Centre has been tailor made and is in place to
support as many people as possible, we want Stafford to be a community of swimmers!
This centre has two dedicated group exercise studios, allowing us to offer 46 (up from 29) classes a week − and brand new to the time table is Les Mills.
Les Mills offer some of the world’s most popular classes, we are delighted to be offering many of them at the centre, as well as your most loved old favourites such as Yoga, Pilates, Legs
Bums & Tums and Zumba.
Group exercise is one of the most motivational ways to stay fit – because exercising in a group keeps you on track and pushes you harder, at the new centre we are able to offer 46 sessions
a week, accommodating up to 900 people – that’s 320 more than at the old centre!
A huge thank you to all our members and customers for their patience during the transition from the old to new centre – we are doing our best to hit the ground running but inevitably we know there will be some snagging.
Please bear with us while we finalise phone lines and online booking systems, we ask that you try and visit the website for answers in the first instance, and we will do our best to get back to all email enquiries asap.
