Free and low cost activities in Worcester this January

Freedom Leisure, which operates the Sport, Art and Play Development service and three leisure centres on behalf of Worcester City Council, including the newly developed Perdiswell Leisure Centre, is offering free and low cost activities this January to help children, families, groups and ladies to be a little more active, trying out new activities.

For Children and young people, there is a FREE 8-week girls’ running programme for 14-18 year olds, to get into running. In addition, for girls and boys aged 11-16, Freedom Leisure is teaming up with Worcester Community Trust to launch a 5-a-side inter-centre football tournament – running for six weeks at Perdiswell Leisure Centre, costing just 50p per week.

To help young women, aged 18-25, there will be two FREE 8-week ladies’ running programmes, for those looking to start running this year, offering advice, tips and support for beginners and to get you on the road to running alone and covering distance if you wish.

Finally, a FREE 6-week ladies Aqua Aerobic programme tops off the list.

FREE Girls Running Programme – Wednesday 5pm-6pm @ Nunnery Wood Sport Complex (starts 11 January)

Hannah Cox, Regional Development Manager says: “As a not-for-profit leisure trust, our focus is to serve the communities in which we operate and to enable more people to be more active more often. These free and low cost programmes are designed to target key groups that can be less active and hopefully give them the opportunity to try new sports. The majority of the programmes are based at the new Perdiswell Leisure Centre, so by joining these programmes people will also get the opportunity to use the fantastic, top-class facilities at the same time!”
