Leading not-for-profit leisure trust Freedom Leisure has been appointed by East Northamptonshire District Council to run three sites and implement a new outreach programme to its rural communities.
From 1st April 2017 Freedom Leisure will manage and develop the healthy and active lifestyles offer in the district through the Nene Centre in Thrapston, Pemberton Leisure & Conference Centre and Splash Leisure Pool in Rushden.
As well as managing these sites and maximising their facilities, Freedom Leisure is also developing a new Sports & Physical Activity Outreach service to engage with the local community, especially those living in the more rural parts of the district.
Freedom Leisure was awarded the contract after an extensive tendering process involving 10 companies, five of which were shortlisted.

Freedom Leisure has pledged investment of over £2 million to improve and develop the facilities and services in the East Northamptonshire region. This will include the replacement of fitness equipment, a brand new adventure play area and investment into improving the energy efficiency of the leisure facilities.
