Because water is about 800 times denser than air, you can work harder, and burn more calories!Swim England
Here at Rye Sports Centre we have a 25m swimming pool which is great for a range of activities for fun, fitness or relaxation for you and the family to enjoy.
The benefits of swimming and water-based activities are endless. If you are looking at the health and fitness benefits it is great for both getting fit and losing weight, because they offer both cardio and strength workouts. Not to mention the fact the water supports the body, making it low impact – ideal for rehabilitation and stress management. Did you know that swimming can burn up to 200 calories in 20 minutes?
There are unisex changing rooms with individual and communial showers and a traditional sauna located on poolside which is free to members.
We have put together a considered timetable for the pool including lane swimming, family swim sessions, swimming lessons, water-based exercise classes, themed splashdance events and supporting local schools with swim time.
