Brand New Exercise Studio - the latest in functional training

We have a brand new group state of the art exercise studio.

The team trying out the new kit in the studio

The studio competes with some of the most state-of-the-art studios in Brighton and Hove – in design, specification and class offering!

Brighton & Hove City Council has invested over 200K in the new studio as we invest in widening the appeal and extending the offering at the much-loved centre – to support more people in the city to be more active.

Prince Regent centre has long delighted visitors with its versatile inner city swimming pool hall (consisting of four separate pools) plus its compact yet very well-equipped gym and hugely popular and successful swim school, but by reconfiguring unutilised space the team is now looking forward to also hosting 40 plus group exercise classes a week; including MOVEit® classes, the latest in functional training – making us the only place in Brighton and Hove to offer these classes!

Ryan O’Gorman, Freedom Leisure Health and Fitness Manager, says: “We’ve gone all out with the design of this studio to create a really current and appealing exercise space for customers to enjoy! The glass-fronted studio has the latest sound and air conditioning systems, a touch screen lighting system that allows the use of full colour spectrum ambient lighting, plus some of the most innovative functional training equipment on the market.

"However, the piece de resistance is the specially designed shock-absorbing polyurethane flooring called ENERGYM which is kinder on users' joints and reduces injury making for an even safer workout!

“In addition, the jam-packed timetable combining MOVEit® and our own variety of Yoga, Pilates, Stretch and Meditation sessions will be all our customers require to achieve their fitness goals, and can be enjoyed by people of all abilities from beginners to advance.

We are also delighted to introduce our new team of 12 fitness instructors, who are some of the finest Brighton has to offer!”

Councillor Alan Robins, chair of Brighton & Hove’s Tourism, Development & Culture Committee, said: “The council is committed to providing inspiring spaces for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy exercise and keep fit. We’re really pleased to support the improvements at this much-loved leisure venue which will offer more choice and more activities for residents in the city.”

The studio is located right in the centre of the city, making it hugely accessible for residents, workers and students – so for those looking for a full fitness offering, Prince Regent is so much more than just a gym.
